
Originally from San Angelo, Texas, Caryn McGraw Turner began her career in Austin, Texas.
Professional Background
Before founding McGraw Law PLLC in 2021, Ms. McGraw Turner practiced civil litigation for several years in Austin, Texas, where she handled a wide range of matters including probate disputes, real property conflicts, employment claims, consumer protection matters, and personal injury cases. Her litigation experience includes depositions, discovery practice, court appearances, and appellate work, as well as service as a court-appointed dependent administrator in probate proceedings.
This litigation background informs her work today. Whether assisting families with estate planning, guiding clients through probate, or facilitating mediation between family members, Ms. McGraw Turner approaches each matter with an understanding of both the legal framework and the practical realities that families face when conflict arises.
Mediation & Collaborative Problem-Solving
In addition to litigation experience, Ms. McGraw Turner holds a mediation certificate from the University of Texas School of Law and frequently works with families seeking constructive ways to address disagreements regarding estate matters, elder care, and guardianship decisions.
Through mediation and family facilitation, the firm helps families communicate more effectively, explore solutions collaboratively, and develop plans that support the well-being of the individuals involved.
Professional Involvement
Ms. McGraw Turner is actively involved in professional organizations and legal education. She is an active member of the Ethics Committee of the Colorado Bar Association. She is also a member of the Trust and Estates Section and Elder Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association, including participation in the Orange Book Forms Subcommittee, particularly its Medical Power of Attorney working group.
Ms. McGraw Turner also serves the public member of the American Psychological Association’s Needs Assessment Slating and Campaigns Committee.
Her professional service reflects a continuing interest in the ethical and practical questions that arise in modern legal practice, particularly in areas affecting families and vulnerable individuals.
Ms. McGraw Turner has also participated as a presenter, moderator, and panelist in a variety of continuing legal education programs and professional forums addressing topics such as guardianship responsibilities, litigation practice, and emerging issues in legal ethics, specifically:

Education
Ms. McGraw Turner received her Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law, where she earned a mediation certificate and participated in the UT Law Mediation Clinic. During law school, she was a Patton Boggs Foundation Public Policy Fellow.
She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business, cum laude, from St. Edward’s University, where she concentrated in Latin American studies. While at St. Edward’s, she was a four-year NCAA varsity tennis athlete and recipient of both academic and athletic scholarships.

Community and Professional Engagement
Ms. McGraw Turner has served on nonprofit and professional committees focused on community service, elder care, and legal education, including service as a board member of Family Eldercare in Austin, Texas.
She currently serves on the Denver Bar Association Bench-Bar Committee and frequently contributes to professional discussions regarding the evolving role of the legal profession in addressing complex social and family issues. She is also a member of the Colorado Bar Association’s Law Club.
Outside the Practice of Law
Outside her legal work, Ms. McGraw Turner enjoys spending time in the outdoors and pursuing interests in music, art, writing, dance, independent study, backpacking, and front-country camping with her family.
